Affiliate Disclosure
We believe in transparency. This page explains how TrailTestedGear makes money and how it affects our reviews.
How We Make Money
TrailTestedGear is supported by affiliate commissions. When you click a product link on our site (particularly Amazon links) and make a purchase, we earn a small commission.
This does not cost you anything extra. You pay the same price whether you click through us or go directly to Amazon. We simply earn a referral fee.
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Affiliate Links
Product links on TrailTestedGear are affiliate links using our unique tracking tag: trailtested04-20
When you click these links and make a purchase within 24 hours, we receive a commission. This is how we support the site and fund future gear testing.
Does This Affect Our Reviews?
Short answer: No. Our reviews are honest regardless of affiliate status.
Here's our promise: We will only recommend products we genuinely believe are worth your money. We've tested gear that we don't recommend, and we don't link to it just for commission. We've also tested products we love and DON'T earn affiliate commissions on, and we recommend them anyway.
Our reputation is built on honesty. That's worth more than any individual sale.
No Paid Reviews
We do not accept payment from manufacturers or brands to review their products. All reviews are conducted independently with gear we purchased or received for testing purposes.
Other Affiliate Programs
In addition to Amazon Associates, TrailTestedGear may participate in other affiliate programs. Any such relationships will be clearly disclosed on the relevant product pages.
Questions?
If you have questions about our affiliate relationships or how they work, contact us. We're happy to explain how any specific relationship works.
